YPAP leader Jack Lin Xinli apologizes to opposition MP Chiam See Tong for online defamatory remarks

Author: Beleaguered YPAP leader from Joo Chiat branch and General Secretary of the Joo Chiat Community Club Youth Executive Committee has written and sent an email apology to opposition MP Mr Chiam See Tong for his defamatory remarks made on the YPAP Facebook.
Mr Lin caused a massive outcry on cyberspace recently by insulting Singaporeans as “3rd class citizens”:

In the same discussion thread, Mr Lin also insinuated that Mr Chiam See Tong “bought” his “O” level certificate though the latter was a practising lawyer:

In an email reply to Kojakbt, the netizen who lodged the initial complaint against him to PAP MPs from Joo Chiat and East Coast, Mr Lin revealed that he had apologized to Mr Chiam to show his “sincerity”.
It is not known if Mr Chiam has replied to him or if he will take legal action against Mr Lin for damaging his reputation.
Mr Lin added that he had learnt a very hard lesson from the fracas and he hope it will be “a learning point for everyone with regards to political discussion.”
He should have sent his reminder to fellow YPAP leaders like Sear Hock Rong, Fong Yoong Keong, Eric How, Genesis Shen, Edgar Khieu and of course the “award-winning” new citizen from India Sinha Satyabrata Sheka not to repeat their callous remarks on fellow Singaporeans again.
Despite the controversy stirred by Mr Lin, the PAP MPs interviewed by the media have blatantly refused to condemn him for his statements and instead chose to obfuscate the matter, an indication that they support Mr Lin’s views that Singaporeans are “3rd class citizens” tacitly.
This is not the first time a YPAP leader has gotten into trouble by making disparaging and humiliating comments about Singaporeans on its official Facebook.
In March this year, another YPAP leader and new citizen from India, Mr Sinha Shekhar, who was ironically awarded an “Outstanding Contributor award” by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong for his “regular” postings on REACH Facebook, caused a stir when he called Singapore NSmen “DOGS” on the YPAP Facebook.

Mr Sinha Shekhar did not serve a SINGLE day of NS. He later promised to “clarify” the matter in the media, but has yet to do so. He was not reprimanded for his comments.
Singaporeans are still waiting for a public apology from Mr Sinha Shekar, if ever.

Mr. CST should promptly seek legal advice and take steps to preserve his legal claims of defamation, among other legal claims, against Jack Lin and people in PAP and YPAP who may have facilitated and assisted in such alleged defamation.
What Jack Lin said was downright untrue and malicious.
Jack Lin and those involved should be hold to account for their actions, both legally and morally and politically.
Sue Jack Lin until he is bankrupt.
Oh, wait, I forgot, the treatment is only reserved for political opposition party members and average Singaporean Citizens (whom Jack Lin labelled as THIRD CLASS, and whom Sinha labelled as DOGS).

What do you expect from a Government that has been lacking morals for a long time and now lacking discipline as well.
The lack of morals – fixing the opposition through jailing, bankruptcies, driving them out of the country, not allowing other’s views and opinions to be heard, controlling the press, meddling with the electoral process through gerrymandering, GRC, etc.
The lack of discipline – Ministers want high salaries and in a hurry and to do this they bring in foreigners to prime up the GDP numbers, bringing into Government their cronies, rewarding their cronies, controlling the people through Town Councils and People’s Associations, etc.
Further, this Government has an uncaring attitude towards the citizens – citizens’ rights are eroded, infirmed older citizens are left to the charities to be looked after, workers’ rights have been diluted through the Government’s control of the unions, etc.
The Government and politicians should lead by example.
Even this new citizen from India, Sinha Sheka can rubbish Singaporeans with impunity. Was he reprimanded??? So how do you expect Sear Hock Rong, Fong Yoong Keong, Eric How, Genesis Shen and Edgar Khieu to behave?

Yes Chiam should sue, especially with Jack Lin confirming his misdeed in his apology letter, believe that the compensation can be made to good use.

Jack must be secretly upset that he is the only PAP-linked person made to apologise. Other well-connected PAP cadres, like the ministers and MPs, have always gotten away with insulting Sinkees.
Another learning experience? Just see how the young PAP leaders give the excuses and do it again and again to gain “learning experiences”

This is the problem in Singapore. Anyone “CHOSEN” by the ruling party feels superior to all the ordinary JOES in the country. They say there isn’t a class system in Singapore, well, there isn’t, it is only them and US. The “US” are chosen, the them are CONDEMNED. The US (CHOSEN ONES) are always talking down on the JOES. THIS IS MERITOCRACY AT WORK. All who voted for THEM chose this path.

Since it was on YPAP official website, Mr Chiam, it becomes a serious matter affecting your reputation as an MP as well as hurting the feelings of all your fellow supporters in Potong Pasir.
You must take action otherwise you are allowing similar situation to happen again not only to you but others too, and then, it will be difficult for you to defend any future action.
Jack Lim must learn a lesson from his mistake.
