Singaporeans question security lapse by SMRT

Despite the best attempts of SMRT to sugar-coat the disastrous security breach at its depot, a deluge of letters appeared in the Straits Times forum today questioning its handling of the case.
On 17 May, two foreigners slipped into Changi depot undetected and sprayed graffiti on the carriage of a train.
A commuter recorded a video clip of the graffiti on the train and uploaded it to Youtube. SMRT lodged a police report only two days later.
Ong Hong Boon still feels secure in spite of the official explanation by SMRT:
“As a Singaporean, I am saddened and disappointed by the breach at SMRT’s Changi train depot by two foreigners. The culprits have achieved wide publicity and demonstrated to the world that the well-guarded facilities in Singapore are not impregnable. How the strategic facilities in Singapore will be protected hereafter is paramount. The lame explanation for the security lapse and additional safeguards planned by SMRT do not mitigate the uneasiness felt by many Singaporeans.”
Another Singaporean Tim Mou Hui questioned the delay by SMRT in informing the public of the security breach:
“SMRT has not provided a satisfactory explanation for the delay in informing the public about the security lapse. Considering that the incident was brought to public awareness only after video footage of the vandalised train was uploaded onto YouTube, one cannot help but wonder whether SMRT intended to avoid public discussion of the embarrassing episode entirely if it could indeed have done so.”
SMRT had explained that its staff did not make a police report immediately as they have mistaken the graffiti for “advertisements”.
However, it failed to explain why the gaping hole in the fence surrounding the depot was left unnoticed for two days.
Its CEO Ms Saw Phaik Hwa also did not apologize to the public, having only expressed “regrets” over what had happened while asking commuters to do their “part”.
Her insensitive remarks drew flak from netizens who question her sincerity in addressing the security lapse.
As Ms Tim puts it succinctly:
“SMRT’s emphasis on ‘the need for commuters to play their part’ skirts the larger public concern about the adequacy of SMRT’s security infrastructure. While we are cognisant of our role in ensuring the security of the MRT system as commuters, we question the extent to which SMRT expects us to go in ensuring the security of the SMRT depot facility.”
In the meantime, the Ministries of Transport and Home Affairs continued to distance itself from the fiasco as if it has nothing to do with them, leaving the hapless SMRT to deal with the public fallout on its own.

Lao Goh will say “SMRT has already given their explanation, let’s move on”
Wong Cant Sack will say “The briton culprit is either in HK or UK, but the plausibility of the latter is greater”
Sissy Lee will say “?”…ooops as usual, siam the issue and taken leave liao.
Lao Lee will say “a further exemplification of my point, that the people are too complacent and thus caused another lapse in national security”
In the end, NOBODY is held accountable and issue can skirted around all over the place till everyone is either too confused to remember or just simply forgets…..
Different take on SMRT incident
http://atans1.wordpress.com/2010/06/10/smrt-what-has-publics-duty-to-do-with-the-price-of-eggs/
Where is PAP’s love when SMRT needs it? Where is the Transport Minister Raymond Lim and Home Affairs Minister Wong Kan Seng. Come come help your battered SMRT CEO in need. Hmmmm
A thousand miles away. They are more looking forward to 9% growth GDP and bonuses.
TR, fret not. In a few days time, SMRT will choot patterns to deal with questions from the public. As usual, it’s just an honest mistake, people err.
Let’s move on from here.
Tai Chi helps one to remain healthy.
What is the use of remaining healthy when the cancer is already within the body, and remains malignant as the years go by ?
LUCKY IT’S JUST GRAFITTI,
or less, the number of deaths would be horrific if it was a bomb.
N THE AUTHORITIES SEEMS TO BE TAKING IT, LIKE IT’S ANOTHER ‘MICHAEL FAY 1994′ INCIDENT.
COMPLACENCY CAUSES DEATHS.
SMRT should KEEP THE GRAFFITI on the train, AS A REMINDER on the need to be vigilant.
NEXT, THEY SHOULD GO REVIEW SECURITY AT ALL BUS INTERCHANGE, AS THERE IS NO PERIMETER FENCING.
Money poured into security is a bottomless pit. Irregardless of how secure a place is there is a chance of it being breached.
Every time something happened you need someone to be responsible and hold them liable of every things gone wrong, how can that be? If somebody really want to bomb our MRT, even by securing the terminal, it is still not enough. A bomb may be laid on the track somewhere and detonate when the train passes by. Do you want SMRT to check every inch of the tracks twenty four seven? If they are to do that, do you think what you are paying for your trip at the moment will still be the same tomorrow?
If the people of Singapore is really so passionate about the security lapse, they can always form a voluntary group to ensure that no Swiss or British fools are able to come here to draw graffiti as they please.
Aiya, only a freak event why bother. There are more important issue like, 8.8%increase in pay. Billions loss. You die your business. Inflation, More FT. Less pay. Daft. Not cheap, Not fast. Not better.
Deaf to ear. I feel good when i look at cpf. Millions pay to ministers. Mas Selamat. UBS, ABC. … Romanian. Please add.
SMRT CEO should offer to resign!!!
The SMRT should have stopped all trains, do a bomb sweep upon discovery of the ‘hole in the fence’ as a serious security breach had taken place. That should be in the Standard Operating Procedure. 1.5m commuters per day can mean anybody can be hurt if bombs were planted by terrorist, and every individual life is as impotant as any other, whether PR, tourist or citizen. And if we remember….those terrorists caught years ago during the 911….had Yishun MRT Station as target. THe Brit and Swiss should be thanked for having revealed such a gaping hole in the security lapses before anything big happens. They had done the SMRT a great service, better than any drills, exercises they had carried out. That was a real test of their readiness and preparedness.
Silence should be an SMRT employee ….The fk care working attitude is just what they need to keep the lapse coming back. I feel his passion…
I dunno how the SMRT CEO still got face to go ard meeting others and giving name cards – the term SMRT CEO is enough to make me burst out laughing if i ever see the card.
Excuse me! It voiced down to the proper, correct cum assiduous selection of the CEO or simply the person who helm the corporation.
The present CEO of SMRT is just simply a former sales woman from DFS. Her only acheivement and main focus is to take in more revenues for SMRT by increasing the rental intakes of SMRT premises. Sad to say, this is also what she is capable of with her limited ability.
Just imagine, a CEO only capable in focusing on sales and marketing without any technical know-how in running a “technical” corporation like SMRT with core business in operating effective, efficient and proficient public transport and main mission in providing affordable public-transportation to the main-street-men.
Can the technical, security, maintenance, operational staff be motivated by the management when the CEO only knows about sales and marketing without any appreciation on technicalities?
In summary, a CEO of a technical corporation must be able to lead the organization in all aspect of nature of business, be it in technical, maintenance, finance, sales and marketing, HR/PR, admin, and so on and so far, especially with ##vast as well as specific technical knowledge##.
How to motivate a technical staff when you can not even understand and communicate with him?
So, will the staff care more when the bosses are not around? Will the staff report irregularities when the CEO has no knowledge of his area of work? The questions can go on and on…………..
Respects are earned and not demanded by authority!!!

YOU R RIGHT,
MAKING MONEY MORE IMPORTANT TO SMRT THAN LIVES OF ‘LESSER MORTALS’.
SMRT SHOULD TRAIN THE STAFF UPDATING EZ LINK CARD AT EACH CONTROL STATION N REDEPLOY THEM AS WITH SECURITY STAFF TO PROTECT THE DEPOTS CHECK ALL TRAINS BEFORE FIRST RUN IN THE MORNING.
[why need to update ez link card at the Control Station, when they is already an ez link card updating booth n lots of card updating machine]
Let us move on.We all know nothing will happen and over time it will be forgotten.
Let us all get focused to the right issue which is to mentally prepare ourselves to pay MORE for SMRT rides.
It is only right that the citizens pay for increased security. After all we know the government is not a rich uncle and they are moving in the direction to make us pay for everything.
i like the art on it though
@Jack Gringo:
Saw Fark Hwa won’t resign wan. She needs the money to do her hair.
@OppositionSupporter:
SILENCE is not an employee of SMRT, neither is he a bootlicker.
He is the real MIW with his keyboard.
@silence is golden:-If the people of Singapore is really so passionate about the security lapse, they can always form a voluntary group to ensure that no Swiss or British fools are able to come here to draw graffiti as they please.
Ya…. this are the FT ,, the pap gov welcome with both theirs hand and leg open wide.
don’t have to form voluntary grp , simply , stop bringing in this fool , you will not have graffiti…. sg is too daft and busy to graffiti. Money is not enough eat, talk about buying paint to paint.
Daft
the question is, which low ranking official will be counseled over this incident?
Security In Singapore And What It Really Means
To all and sundry, no country is ever truly secure from external and internal threats. History has shown that the best possible defence of a nation is by its own citizens, not their armed forces or other means of local defence. If a person’s family and home is facing danger, he/she will fight to the death to defend them. Therefore the country’s security must come from the citizens’ loyalty and love of their country and way of life, for them to resist all forms of threats.
There are many examples of nations at war where idealogy and patriotism prevailed against all odds because of the citizenry. Examples that comes to mind are Vietnam and Israel. No matter how much defence equipment, size of the armed forces and local defence and propaganda that a country has, will be for nought, if the citizens themselves do not have the same idealogy nor any feeling of patriotism. These cannot be bought at any price, and only winning the hearts and minds of its own citizens can a country be sure that it’s security will be hard to breached. To preserve itself for perpetuity, a nation has to treasure its own citizenry to earn the feelings of patriotism. Disillusioned and perceived loss of rights amongst other negative mindset will be the real threat to a nation’s security.
Why you may ask? Despite the visible show of might, modern armed forces, etc, it is easy to penetrate and breached a country’s defence. Any entity wishing to do harm can easily walk through and cause untold damage as we are experiencing today in many parts of the world. These days, money talks and many will sell their mother for a little bit of cash, and bribing your way in is not so difficult.
In conclusion, how this applies to Singapore is food for thought. In all honesty, can we say we will defend Singapore to our last drop of blood, or, who the hell cares what happens as long as it does not affect me?
I would like to know how to silence # SilenceIsGolden. Alternatively, particulars or details of a personal nature on this hindgut of an insecta would be equally welcome.

You’re talking nonsense!
The place should’ve been patrolled by armed guards at night. We know that we’re a target for terrorists from Indonesia, but our highly paid ministers and bureacrats were still sleeping! This is unforgiveable. Why can’t we make use of NS men to guard our critical facilities?
The latest security failure at the SMRT depot comes after so many wake-up calls. Escape of Mas Selamat, security blunders at the airport, fire/arson at the bus depot.
This is completely unacceptable when one realizes that the People have been supporting with additional funds (e.g. heavy airport security tax) to prepare and defend against terrorist acts. Yet we get failures in very basic security. That no major incident has occurred points to the fact that we have been lucky rather than we are well-prepared.
I agree that there must be an inquiry to plug all the systemic holes. It has less to do with why SMRT depots are so weakly protected, more to do with why no agency insisted otherwise.
I have previously called for the resignation of Wong Kan Seng as the Home Affairs Minister following the escape of Mas Selamat. Apparently, he has squandered the opportunity to redeem himself. He should now be fired.
Will we be seeing “Cheaper, Better and Faster” security staff from overseas?
SilenceIsGolden:

Money poured into security is a bottomless pit. Irregardless of how secure a place is there is a chance of it being breached.
Irregardless of what SIG say-the-less, now confirmed we know this Ah lian NEBER goes to Primary school. Maybe attended MIW balls massage school .
But I digress irregarglesstitude. LOL.
Has anyone out there ever heard of a terrorist breaking into a train depot to put a bomb on an empty train? Why would a terrorist want to do that? Terrorists carry their bombs onto crowded trains at train stations along with all the other passengers. It’s much easier that way.
> How Pathetic And Pathetic (PAP):
They focus attention on the security of only MRT STATIONS but left the MRT DEPOTS totally exposed to infiltration !!!
[ These are the very people that MM Lee should label as DAFT, and not ordinary S'porean taxpayer-voters !!! ]
> Typical PAP-style of downplaying Monumental Blunders through “smooth-talking clever semantics”:
….The “gaffe” was admitted yesterday by SMRT’s chief executive Saw Paik Hwa*, who “deeply regretted” the ‘SERIOUS LAPSE”….(ST 9 Jun 2010)
[ *said to be a bosom buddy of Temasek CEO Ho Ching ]
> Are our Obscenely-Paid Muddle-headed Million-dollar Ministers truly “First-World” (as self-proclaimed)? RUBBISH !!!
And our Over-Paid Bird-brained Bureaucrats really “First-Class” (as self-proclaimed)? MY FOOT !!!
[ Note: "RUBBISH" is MM Lee's favourite one-word retort towards anything and everything he does not like to hear ]
my opionin MRT CEO should resign as it is very dangerous lapse. If some terrorist or secret agent going to plant a evil plan on the MRT they have no problem doing it even to ignite it days later… WAKE UP SINGAPOREAN.
The best kind of defense against terrorism is to have a government like PAP. Who will lapse in order to allow Mat Selamat go to Johore Bahru and be incarcerated for a few good years. Leaving him imprisoned in Singapore is too dangerous because his comrades will come here and congregate. That is very dangerous.
Hence it is better that he go to Malaysia and we can save our money for not having to feed him in our prison.
What to do, it had happened, let move on !
Why must people always lose their jobs? Can’t we make things better?
She is my relative ok, sob!
We as commuters of the MRT are frequently harassed by SMRT nonsense about looking out “unattended” items on the train. They blast it over the PA every few minutes, it is virtually impossible to rest in peace during the train rides due to heighten security.
Now you can see for yourself, what is the point of getting millions to commuters to stay vigilant for terrorist attack when the staff of SMRT allow such security laspes to occur…
SMRT’s statement is irresponsible, if a terrorist managed to be “artistic” in planting a bomb in the train depot, does this mean SMRT is not at fault since they thought it is some sort of advertisment too?
Maybe shitisdelicious aka silenceisgolden is really tan kam weng, the moron who badmouthed Chiam See Tong’s management of Potong Pasir while ignoring how filthy Redhill Estate (and most other miw run estates for that matter) really is. And mm lee is one of the mps in Redhill GRC!!!!
From a Facilities Management professional,’s point of view. This is lame excuse and unacceptable. The CEO and Chief Security Officer must resign !. Some head must roll for such matters – thousand could die you know ?.
Even a small facility like GSK, i made sure even an ant cannot enter, how can this happen to SMRT ?. No Face Man.
@Darth Vader – Maybe darth maybe.. Hmmm …..Maybe you are LKY, the majestic MP of Redhill and the MM of Singapore.
@silenceisgolden You are already a threat to the nation.lols. What security are you talking about? maybe you can do a favour for the nation, just shut up.
monkey see monkey do.
This has been a pattern set by PAP leaders and govt owned investment companies. When they make serious mistakes, they don’t take accountability and try to apologise at the highest level, instead always find lame excuses or blame it to the lowest staff level. But $$ want millions in salary.
It must be a sure formula for Singapore to go downhill. Wait and see.
CEO SMRT .Well it stands for: SLY MONEYFACE RELAX TACTLESS! Guess she is all these things and much more. Strange that our ministers have not said anything about this incident after always telling us not to be relax and to be vigiliant!
Well guess one should practice what one preachers!Looks like our search for cheaper better faster efficient CEo’s and ministers should not stop and we should be looking to overseas cos in singapore they are expensive worthless and ignorant!
Sinkaporeans shoud NOT be asking any questions of the ‘ELITES’.
If there is any security lapse by SMRT, then it is the fault of the Lesser Mortals, ie: YOU for failing to open your eyes and keeping a watch on SMRT.
The management of the SMRT are very BUSY people, where got time to keep an eye on these small matters, right?
Just counting their paycheck already needs how many man years liao lo.
wait till terrorist plant a bomb, make a video how they do it and broadcast to the whole world, the chief of security ought to be replaced

Ever heard of something call a time bomb? Why are luggages screened before loading onto an aircraft? Maybe sometimes the terrorists want to plant the explosives and exit Singapore before you can say WTF? Is there a set procedure on blowing up trains? Must the terrorists always blow themselves up together with their victims?
I think we should thank and honour the two FT for showing us how lack the security is at the mrt depot which was discovered only after two days (which mean there is no regular patrol at fence perimeter at all!)
Imagine if it is done by the terrorists, and instead of graffiti work but planting time bomb which blow off during morning peak hours, how many lives will be lost?
Please, the authorities, you should reward them handsomely for they would have many lives for highlighting the security weakness at mrt depot!
To the MOTHERFUCKER OF ALL MOTHERFUCKERS – SilenceIsGolden
Will you this most fucked up motherfucker reveal your true identity? Because I want to murder you and your whole family. No.. I want to invite all the foreigners in Singapore to your place, have a buffet, sit down and chit chat. After which, they will ransack your house, rape your wife and children and castrate you. You think they are not capable of such animalistic behaviour? You try invite them. Give them a housewarming dinner, and see how they repay your stupidity.
Ladies and Gentlemen, this biggest motherfucker, SilenceIsGolden, is a motherfucking PAP bark dog. Go read other reviews and topics. This biggest motherfucker mentions nothing except to praise the motherfucker PAP and their sheer stupidity. He carries their balls like their most willing motherfucker slave.
We need to hunt this dog and put him and his whole family to sleep.
I read about this foreigner commiting this kind of vandalism in the SMRT depot is really a concern to the local. What if the perpetrator are terrorist? The govt also knew this country is a potential target for the regional terrorist.
ppl like Dr Scientist should be the first one to be killed or kicked out from this country. a very good example of the many dafts in TR. totally no brainer post.
@Dr. Scientist – Lol cool it really, you sound like a mad scientist. Angry cannot help you to do a thing. You only know how to bully a nobody like me, if you dare go and challenge PAP.
You are no different to my master the PAP who only knows only how to bully garang guni lady. Your bawdry give you away as a unrefined and uncultured person that is only fit to take a dip in cesspool and enjoy the dung.
If you are truly of substance I dare you to take on the PAP on polling day, lets see how your foreign buddies will desert you the moment LKY mention your name. See how your legs buckle when you know that your assets are going to the PAP. LOL. Speak only when you are spoken to Dr. Scientist.
SilenceisGolden is just mimicking the thoughts of what actually goes on in the ruling parties mind.Think outside the box sinkees,is he or she really anti opposition???
I think we have moved ahead now, since we now question the SMRT instead of them blaming us for complacency like the time Mas Selamat escaped.
Talk about ‘HARD DRIVING’ and ‘HARD STRIVING’.
Is a serious lapse of security hard driving or hard striving at all?
Singaporeans may be honest and gracious on the average but we are not daft like you, govt officials, imagine….now, plz go take a ‘HARD’ look at yourselves in the mirror…do you now see your daft selves?
TAKE HEED !
Remembered the lightning strike on the MerLION ?
Now the latest :

NatureWarningSIGNS: I fully agree. The signs are clear.
Now we also wait for other natural signs with TR ;
Lightning strikes loser SilenceIsGolden (SIG)
SIG stops menstruating BS on TR
SIG reverses ass licking of MIW and starts carrying Singaporean’s balls
SIG collapses in front of Istana & confesses its bad upbringing was due to rotten roots
SIG apologizes for mental dysfunctionality due to security lapses
SIG sued by MIW and MBS for gambling with facts on Singapore
Foreign worker SIG returns home to Romania
…TR reader, feel free to add on. SIG loves attention.
This Saw CB bitch asks commuters to do their part. How???
I am a commuter, how and what exactly does she expect me to do?
Jaga the fences at night?
Patrol SMRT perimeters on my off days?
Search all the public for paints, weapons, bombs, what else?
Ah Lian, use your stupid brain if you have one. By the time commuters notice anything wrong it is already too late. If a bomb was placed in the train, we’ll be dead or seriously injured. You think we have bloodhound abilities to smell bombs and report to you before they go off?
Saw CB is sadly one of the many million dollars fucktards employed by the PAP scums. What meritocracy are the PAP talking about. This bitch is very vocal, talks a lot of cock, but when it comes to doing her job, she has proven herself totally incompetent.
For all the dumbasses who say that terrorists always attack packed trains, are you people really so stupid that it never occured to you that the reason why they don’t plant bombs in train depots overseas because of tight security in the depots there? Have you never heard of radio detonators or time bombs? Or are you miw members? Oh wait, that’s the same thing.
Just look at how stupid shitisdelicious aka silenceisgolden is in identifying me as lky when I always slam the miws hard for their increasing moronic antics. Hip-hop dancing at the ching gay festival to connect with the young instead of trying to identify their problems and aspirations instead, anyone?
As usual, the government entity is faultless.. .(and shameless).
As least, she is better than Ho Jinx (losing billions of our money and still have the ULTRA-THICK face not to resign).

‘Upper beam crooked lower beam cannot be straight’ – Chinese saying.
But seriously……….does any of our pap gov give the F about sg.
You are already digit and daft. If anyone of you want change .. VOTE THEM OUT.
SMRT makes alot of profit last year -so they should employ more people to secure their parameters.
We pay for our ride and not free leh.
Anyway, the MRT – be it the stations and the train are too crowded for us to even notice anything.
Thanks for summing up what the public is feeling on this issue. Even Obama has said that the bucket stops with him and he’s not even drawing millions in salary. It’s time that the ministers face the music and take responsibility.
To: NatureWarningSIGNS,
I am glad you updated us on the fallen tree news. Its not just any other tree, its a tree in front of the Istana. A tree that has rotten roots, what does it say about our country? Interesting!
I have been warning in many other postings at TR saying that Satan will come after those who are corrupted.
Let us continue to be watchful and see what other spiritual things are happening in Singapore.
KR
to Anonei:
your comments couldn’t have been more apt..just felt good someone is thinking along the same line…
It is okay if its staff did not make a police report immediately as they have mistaken the graffiti for “advertisements”.
HOWEVER that stupid hole was there for TWO days and no one knew anything about it?????? oMG!
Come-on, the CEO formly from DUTY FREE SHOP one leh!!She is duty free to ensure safety of trains to the citizens of Spore!!
In ancient china, they believe in omens. When the ruling dynasty is incompetent, they believe the heavens above will show displeasure by causing famine, wars and drought and even earthquakes. It signifies the end of a dynasty.
Now in modern day Spore, we see:-
a) Lighting strikes merlion head. Merlion damaged
b) Tree topples near Istana. ROTTEN roots
c) Foreigners injured and killed citizens, fled….now the gahment is facing a uphill task bringing the culprit back
d) Foreigners vandalised MRT trains. Due to LAX security and complacency.
e) Casinos opened. Spike in crime related to casino operations. Robbery, cheating cases increase. Harmony in society affected.
f) Useless media shamelessly used largely as a propaganda tool. Lies and half-truths are transmitted to the public.
g) Promises given, but not fulfilled and conveniently forgotten.
h) Mas Selamat escapes. “High security” facility not as secured as thought. Minister in-charged blameless. Citizens blamed
How much worse can things go?
I seriously think we should thank the 2 foreigners.
It’s serious wake up call. What if some terrorists
went to plant some time bombs! Lesson learnt hopefully.
Oh, security company engaged lapsed.
CEO SMRT: Contractor management? You tell them to do whatever, they do whatever you tell them. It is not PUBLIC RESPONSIBILITY TO GUARD YOUR OWN FRONT YARD.
SMRT Security Manager: This is your second career, do your part. Contingency, emergency response plan, last checks, more checks. Basis of security. Better for you to go drive taxi or lorry.
MIW/LTA: SMRT PUBLIC TRANSPORT right? Since PUBLIC TRANSPORT word is being used. It is your problem too.
MHA: Not expecting too much. Cant even guard a mat in a high security detention area. Not expecting MHA to guard other infrastructure properly.
Ia most TR is triumphant here for us. God bless you TR team and amen!
As interestingly and much truth in what Napoleon said:
“The world suffers not because of the violence of bad people, but the silence of good people”
And Kerith Ravine, you wrote:
“I have been warning in many other postings at TR saying that Satan will come ‘after’ those who are corrupted.”
And so I would like to change your word “after” to “support” those who are corrupted. As surely Satan is evil and will NOT “come after” the corrupted like the GOOD LAW does. So, he’ll come to ADD more evil events and mayhem to AID the wrong doings of those who are corrupted you see.
People who highlight grave wrongs at work and also in their nation at large are thus BRAVE AND GODLY SOULS who DO NOT put ALL material things above human morals and ethics like lky-pap does.
All these may seem irrelevant for this subject. But we all know how important material things are our survival. But when we set them above all else for “success” and happiness like harry lee does, somethings HAS GOT TO GIVE WAY!
NOT GOOD things are showing up due to wrongs not owned up by pap? Leaders like teachers are certainly MUCH MORE accountable then those under their charge. So when they DO WRONG, everyone suffers! Like parents and their children too in the same manner!
Look like commuters have to perform guard duty at mrt depot soon.
Not even an apology or sorry !.
Arrogant and complacent is the norm in civil service.
PLEASE RESIGN. No SAWrepentent ?.
SILENCE IS GOLDEN
Just wonder – do we still have a multi-million dollar Minister for Transport or one for Home Affairs responsible for our security?
Recently, during the oil spill in the east, Uncle was also looking frantically for words of wisdom and advice from any Minister responsible for our environment.
@Gentle Uncle, Our minister has better things to do than to go to handle such small matter. MRT is not a prison or some classified location that requires top security protection. It is all about insignificant people with nothing better to do trying to make mountain out of mole hill. I am sure after a while nobody will bother about this thing anymore.
I remembered long long time ago there was a Alex Tan contesting a YPAP call Sear Hock Rong. Today it is all over. Things can be forgotten after some time don’t you think so?
SMRT CEO should provide a Public Appology asap!
Such a huge disappointment!
It piss me off!
“SilenceIsGolden” dissects others’ comments to emulate his “master” and teach everyone too. It is time we do the same to his ideas and mind to see how they stand out in scrutiny?
BIG QUESTIONS TO This Every-Area “expert” like his “master” ARE:
1. He said to “@Gentle Uncle, Our minister has better things to do than to go to handle such small matter.”
Q1. Oh really too “small” for minister to handle? Or “TOO HOT” for incompetence like you to so stupid “answer for him? Read on and LET’S “What kind of a CEO or Minister you would made hor?
Q2. “MRT is not a prison or some classified location that requires top security protection.
OH REALLY? The depot fence was cut by TWO guys who ENTERED into THE DEPOT! NOW….. What if NOT graffiti….. BUT A TIME or REMOTELY Activated BOMB was PLANTED UNDER the carriage OF “JUST” ONE car? WHAT WHO HAVE BEEN THE EXTEND OF DAMAGE AND LIVES LOST???????????????????????
SCENARIO 1: An MRT car at it’s maximum capacity of 300 passengers would mean MINIMUM 300 LIVES AND the vehicle GONE!
SCENARIO 2: With all SIX cars speeding along TOGETHER…. And NOW the FRONT and REAR car(s) DISCONNECTED….. Will there BE A CRASH from cars) BEHIND? Also, WILL the car(s) IN FRONT BECOME “Free Running”? Do you KNOW that the Brake System IS AN “Electrical REGENERATIVE” type. Do you know too what that means and what will become of it IN SUCH AN EXPLOSION?
SCENARIO 3: All cars ARE POWERED BY 750 VOLTS DC! A Short-Circuit SHOULD LIKELY occur AND Electrical Power SHUTDOWN Activated! Now “smart expert”….. UNTIL “Electrical Power IS CUT-OFF….. CAN “THIS” car and some other cars “GET ELECTRIFIED”? IF SO….. WHAT WILL BE THE NEXT Scenario and RESULTANT CONSEQUENCES…. AND DAMAGE With LOST Of MORE LIVES due to JUST THIS Incident??? HOW ABOUT the “run-away” trains”????? AS HOW MANY WILL JUMP tracks….. AND CRASH ONTO the roads too CRUSHING vehicles and….????
In the TUNNEL…. SMASH INTO the outer tunnel walls OR INTO the DOORS And PANELING….. ALSO KILLING MORE!!!!!
SCENARIO 4: THIS one IS for you “SilenceISgolden” NO MORE!!!!!!
Q3. You said…. “It is all about insignificant people with nothing better to do trying to make mountain out of mole hill.” Well…… IS IT STILL “insignificant” by “people with nothing better to do” and them making “mountain out of a mole hill.”…….
Please “SilenceISgolden” NO MORE to Tell US OFF and TEACH US like the your “master” and majesty!!!??? CAN?
Q4. “I am sure after a while nobody will bother about this thing anymore.”…… SO “Insignificant” IS human lives TO YOU and may I suggest your meaning as of harry’s “errors with impunity” in 1956 to David Marshall? JUST “sweep” under the “carpet” hor??? If your family in that “explosion”….. How WILL YOU see it then hah???
Q5. I remembered long long time ago there was a Alex Tan contesting a YPAP call Sear Hock Rong. Today it is all over. Things can be forgotten after some time don’t you think so?….. OH REALLY?????…… As PER….. THIS from your “beloved master” AND YOU “his beloved admirer” (Note certain this one time he’ll DISAGREE with you for the “present political reasons”):
“Repression, Sir is a habit that grows. I am told it is like making love – it is always easier the second time! The first time there may be pangs of conscience, a sense of guilt. But once embarked on this course with constant repetition you get more and more brazen in the attack. All you have to do is to dissolve organizations and societies and banish and detain the key political workers in these societies. Then miraculously everything is tranquil on the surface. Then an intimidated press and the government-controlled radio together can regularly sing your praises, and slowly and steadily the people are made to forget the evil things that have already been done, or if these things are referred to again they’re conveniently distorted and distorted with impunity, because there will be no opposition to contradict.” – Lee Kuan Yew as an opposition PAP member speaking to David Marshall, Singapore Legislative Assembly, Debates, 4 October 1956
Q6. So NOW THAT “SilenceISgolden” NO MORE…… YOU’VE portrayed AND displayed yourself ASS:
Q6.1 Security “EXPERTISE” right?
Q6.2 Safety “EXPERTISE” too right?
Q6.3 Ministerial Level “CALIBER” too right?
Q6.4 Benchmark Level “EXPERTISE Adviser” too right?
Q6.5 Full of “WISDOM” and EVEN “better” than the “master” you admire right?
NOW…… be a bold comeback “kid” and “expertly” give us some “EMPIRICAL” answers to the above…… Especially under the Scenarios!!!! We…. DO NEED Fast Forward and Fast Backward “fortune-teller talents” like YOU like YOU to “ENGAGE” in “OBLITERATING” all of life’s “negative possibilities”!!!!!
Been waiting for you for a long time FOR YOU!…. To 2-time yourself OUT as “insignificant” as you’ve MADE other lives to be BUT your own!!!!
IF you don’t return SIGNIFICANT….then the logical solution for is IS THAT….. TRULY “SilenceIsGolden” IS INDEED…. The BEST OF all possible “options” for you hor!!! Young YPAP or young “punk”…. DON’T TRY TO “TEACH” your “grandpa” HOW TO HAVE AND SUSTAIN “A BIG FAMILY” hor!!!!!
Yo, aplenty, boot-lickers, no balls, kasi, kaisu , looking for “an-pow” before every GE, “ang-kat’, nothing to. plesase on…Tks!
How can anyone expect SilenceIsGolden (SIG) to respond with intelligence? It has to resort to using fake nicks like mine to throw aspersions. SIG is a fairy who cannot even stop itself from menstruating smelly stinking bull s.h.i.t. With his tongue so deep into very MIW’s ass, it can only leak toxic waste. LOL.
Why singaporeans have QUESTIONed, where is the ANSWER?
Or have singaporeans ACCEPTED the situation and moved on?

Some individuals just don’t understand, like my friend who couldn’t visualize the objective intention of this line on your article “… on ‘the need for commuters to play their part’ skirts the larger public concern about the adequacy of …” it gets me to look brighter after reading it.
