I strongly second that motion! The fund collected can be equally distributed to the different opposition parties who will be contesting in the coming GE equally. I believe TR will publish the statement of accounts. The collected fund can be used to pay for the exorbitant candidate’s fee. But do be careful of the law regarding donation to opposition parties.

The S’pore opposition parties should form a coalition to stand a better chance in the next election. I’m sure you guys can work out your differences. Come on… this is for the sake the our future and the future of S’pore, not for each party or individual.
You see, in Malaysia, even PAS and DAP can now be in a coalition, and both parties are now more successful, even though they have challenges. So, team up, work as a team, share your resources and never slip the votes. If you do this, you will be surprise with the support you will get from S’poreans.

Your suggestion of OPs coalition if achievable will be perfect, though it will be a uphill challenge for them.

two things could be done urgently.one, someone has to create a database and recruit 6 singaporean voters for each GRC/SMC,to stand in as proposer,seconder and 4 assentor,for contesting opposition candidates.

Political should be transparency to voters about their kitty.If not enough,appeal for donation.do not keep mum about it.Singaporeans will surely help.

Also create a volunteer list.these volunteers list could be used by opposition parties to request help during their election campaign period.

The longer the PAP hold back the election the better. Some people say economy will not be so rosy in the later part of the year and PAP must hold election latest by next year. If they delay till the economy starts to falter and even collapse, they are going to walk into big fire.

Mean time the opposition should be able to recruit more opposition candidates that is of some caliber because when people realize the ground is shifting they know it is their golden opportunity to start a civil career by serving the people.

With election coming later, it is even better for the opposition because the netizens will make sure that ground for opposition is even sweeter.

The only fear is cooling day where we don’t know what is up in their sleeve and how the MSM will spin on that day to change the mind of the fence sitter.

Its not only pertinent but crucial that they should act in tandem now that the ruling party are in sixes and sevens.

Differences are common in most coalition,the important message to drive home is to secure a stronger foothold in Parliament and denying PAP a 2 thirds majority.Differences can be iron out later after winning more than one third and remember no frogs allowed.

It is pertinent for the opposition parties to form a coalition as the resources will be wasted in 3 corner fights. However I am not very hopeful of that happening. Despite the fact of lacking in candidates and fund, the last few GE we are still seeing 3 corner fights. Forming a coalition needs common trust and understanding and I suspect that the opposition parties may have different manifestoes and agendas that prevent them from forming a coalition. Furthermore, differences in personality of the respective party leaders may also be a hindrance of a broad front cooperation. They must realise that this coming GE is the best chance to win more seats and if they miss this chance they might not get another with such excellent circumstances.

@AdamD1stMan – Thanks AdamD1stMan, you are very constructive. In the celebration of CST 25th Aninversary as MP, he is already trying to bring together everybody to sing song and merry. Look like he is the de facto opposition leader and hope the other opposition can give some face (Chinese way of saying respect) to him.

If the other opposition leaders could propose that he leads them in the next election, then the chances of three corner fight is less lightly.

Should the opposition remain calm and never fight and co operate nicely, I think the next election we are going to see a tsunami.
