YPAP member Eric How made police report on Facebook “impersonation”

YPAP member Eric How has made a police report on somebody impersonating him on the YPAP Facebook:
“Eric How” sparked a massive outcry in cyberspace two weeks ago with his callous remarks posted on the YPAP Facebook Network.
In the first instance, he slammed netizens for “slapping on the government senselessly” because they did not get “any fruits of benefits” from their forefathers:

In the second instance, he called netizens “donkeys”:
“Stubborn donkeys like you just do not wanna hear the truth. I am still enjoying myself and busy doing my own business rather than doing unproductive stuffs like nagging on the forum anonymously.”
According to a report on Chinese tabloid Lianhe Wanbao, the “real” Eric How has stepped forward to clarify that he was not responsible for these comments and he had already made a police report.
The first comment was posted way back on 2 January 2010. For some strange reasons, Eric did not clarify himself immediately then and waited only till almost three weeks later to do so.
The comment was posted on YPAP Facebook and if the “Eric How” was really an impostor, surely the other YPAP members would have realized it and deleted the posting immediately.
Furthermore, when we clicked on the name “Eric How”, it did go to the Facebook which was proclaimed on Wanbao as belonging to the “real” Eric and his particulars were all deleted after the controversy broke out over his first comment.
Whether the impersonation did take place or not, Mr How should have simply written in to Facebook to delete the impostor’s account instead of making a police report.
If the police really investigate the matter, they may need to retrieve the IP address of the culprit from the YPAP Facebook. Will this lead to the identities of other users being divulged as well?
After maintaining a noble silence for more than 2 weeks, YPAP Chairman Teo Ser Luck finally opened his mouth and commented on the incident:
“These remarks are insensitive and inappropriate and do not represent the YPAP.”
He claimed he would not lend support to them.
If he really feel so strongly against it, why didn’t he state his stance immediately then and have to wait until Mr How make a police report?
Till the police manages to prove beyond any doubt that the “Eric How” posting on YPAP Facebook is an impostor, we shall regard Mr How’s claims with a heavy dose of salt as of now.

Well, Teo Ser Luck was incapable of handling the China table tennis players in the aftermath of the Beijing Olympics fracas that he complained that he was sapped of all energy, refer to ST archives for those who have. He may still be suffering from that table tennis aftermath to deal with donkey Eric How.
Definitely something fishy in the air. TR may be onto something here. Was this an excuse for Eric How to expose the other non-YPAP posters on YPAP Facebook site. Or is Eric How under some pressure from a high ranking YPAP official and Eric the donkey could NO longer take the heat and chicken out by saying he did not do it. If so, Eric is a big fat liar.
Very sneaky now that Hilary Clinton, Sec of State of USA has openly declared that USA will support internet access & freedom of speech in countries that constantly wants to ban or hack internet sites.
TR, remember to send Hilary Clinton an email with a link to your site detailing your DDOS attacks for her or her subordinates to peruse. It will surely reach someone in her State Dept. You need the money.

Lodging a police report will not make the Police investigate who impersonated him. Unless it is with criminal intent or has caused criminal harm. And he knows it.
It is just a show, to divert from how pathetic and inept he is in dealing with the storm that he has unwittingly created with his moronic statements.

I am way into my 60s, and if I were to be so easilly taken in by the REAL Eric’s claim that his account at FaceBook was compromised and that SOMEONE (other than himself) had actually posted these comments and managed to get away with it without a SINGLE SOUL at yPAPies noticing it for 14 DAYS!, then I” be worst off than a MORON and would have wasted all my time going to school, serving the system and growing up!
Anyone with HALF A BRAIN would have figured out what had actually happened and for the benefit of those who have only 1/4 of a brain, here my hunch:
1. REAL Eric How did INDEED posted the comments but NO ONE at yPAPies had anticipated that Netizens would make such a BIG ISSUE out of it.
2. The BIG ISSUE caused PAPies to ‘lose face’ and can not be allowed to carry on further because it would make the PAPies and yPAPies look very very bad especially when GE is around the corner, only months away.
3. So YPAPies Chairman Teo Ser Luck kenna arrow to settle this by someone from the famiLEE (or tender his resignation if cannot settle amicably) with the SPECIFIC instructions “whoever posted that comments cannot be from the yPAPies even if it is, you understand?”.
4. But Teo Ser Luck CANNOT just sack REAL Eric How because (according to Eric How’s own admission), his family very RICH, INFLUENTIAL and CONNECTED. So Teo Ser Luck kenna stuck in a fix, had to cook up something.
5. In a moment of frustration, Teo visited TR and read the Romanian Diplomat postings, then a bright idea came to mind and thus the Police Report BECAUSE Teo knows that:
a. Police is controlled by the famiLEE, so easier to control their output and investigation result, IF ANY. Besides, we all know how effective is the Police in their ‘undergoing investigation’ which may take months if not years. Bearing in mind that Sinkaporeans have a very short memory and forgetful, whether the REAL Eric How DID or did not post the comments will be forever a mystery suited for the future fiction writers.
b. Facebook is NOT in Sinkapore, so jurisdiction wise, Sinkapore POLICE have NO POWERS to investigate Facebook’s servers even if they had wanted to. Permission and cooperation would have to be sought from the management of Facebook but it is very unlikely to be granted due to their EXTREMELY TIGHT Privacy Policy.
c. Management of Facebook would most likely tell Sinkapore Police to go get a Court Order and if the Police is stupid enough to actually make an application to the Court, then the Court there would also most probably tell Sinkapore Police to go fly a kite because the gound for such is weak.
d. Police next alternative would be to contact the corresponding authorities in the country where Facebook is based and hosted in and seek assistance but most likely the Sinkapore Police will have to fly kite again because its a management issue which decision lies with the Facebook eventually.
So basically, all this wayang is only a LAME EFFORT to TRY VERY HARD to inculcate a doubt in STOOOOOOOOOPID readers mindset that REAL Eric How is actually not the REAL one but a FALSE one making the postings and that the REAL Eric How did not make the posting when infact the REAL Eric How made the posting but cannot be seen to have made the posting because it would make the yPAPies and PAPies look very very BAD.
Hunch aside, as in any Kangaroo court of law, given the REAL Eric How’s precedence of the ‘forefather karma thing’, there can be NO DOUBT in my mind whatsoever that the REAL Eric How is capable of and DID INFACT made the posting and not the FAKE Eric How. Anyone not agree with me?
The verdict I arrived at is: Either the REAL Eric is lying or BOTH Eric and Teo is wayanging to cover up the mess the REAL Eric created with the ‘invention’ of the FAKE Eric. There can be NO POSSIBILITY of the FAKE Eric’s existance!
@Incredulous, there is a provision under the law for ‘Criminal Defamation’ but its reserved for BIG SHOTS, the REAL Eric How is not exactly a BIG SHOT so Police probably won’t use that.

So the donkey went to the police station now.
As you know, in Law, it’s all about “witnesses”. As a standard procedure, the police will call for witnesses. So his buddy donkeys will be interviewed one by one in due course, and they will hee haw hee haw tell the same stories how their great leader Eric How was maligned and defamed and so pitiful. Police don’t recognise “Temasek Review” so has no reason to call out any witnesses to the contrary. Besides TR editors also has no names, all anonymous posts, even Correspondents also has no name sometimes, so State Police do not recognise the last three weeks of posts in this space here.
And it came to pass, that the State Police will close the case because there are no other witnesses, the state police will issue a stern warning to all the bloody stupid netizens don’t impersonate good people and get into trouble, and this news will appear in Stratis Times a few days later, and Eric How lives happily ever after. The End.

Again you got the bull’s eye. However, I disagree with point 5.
The solution was given to him in Point 3. Please… Teo Ser Luck don’t have half a brain to work out point 5. You are giving him too much credit. If he was any good and really do want to serve the people, he would have joined the opposition. Same goes for Vivian who now is blinded by his salary.
As for facebook, they can do an internal check easily and they do (in the last ‘hoo haa’ someone hacked into a facebook account and proclaim the person has passed away due to a horrific accident. The person did that to revenge in the game called Mob Wars) Facebook would gladly help out the SG police after a verification check, however, if Teo Ser Luck thinks that facebook will keep the investigation quiet and ‘confidential’ he is in for a surprised.
The investigation will show that his account was login through x number of IPs. The police will then get the relevant ISPs to check through and then it will be sweep under the carpet.
Eric How Lian, my prediction come soon and so zhun ah. How like that? Still feeling ‘elite’ or not? We may be Donkeys or Monkeys but we are living things.. you are just a muppet controlled by the master lee kuan yew.

2) even if he is hacked, he still can access his e-mail account (unless his e-mail use the same password) to check on facebook messages, don’t tell me he hasn’t access his e-mail account for ages?
3) even if his e-mail acct is hacked or he hasn’t read his e-mail, he must have used internet or heard from his fellow YPAP members who are in the know earlier on, why did it take ages for him to find out?

This Eric How is obviously covering his track when he remove his facebook account. Didn’t he smart enough to notice that he who comment on Facebook forum will have their facebook account logged when he comment using his profile ? If he is not the REAL ERIC HOW, doesn’t that means he imposter actually have his access to his facebook account and password ? If so, how come the REAL ERIC HOW didn’t notice that and can keep commenting ? HOW can ERIC anyHOW boomz highfalutin nonsense and expect people to believe him ?

Imposter or not. If such matters are seen as taking too long to reply or claim the writing is not his goes to show Eric How has somewhat agreed to the content and wordings of the remarks. Teo Ser Luck was even more hesitant to dissapprove it by the lengthy timing he took to object those remarks as unethical make by “Eric How”.
It can only be derived that YPAP now fully understood the seriousness of such elitist remarks and the gravity of the situation that they now tried to reverse the already irreversible hurt it has caused to Singaporeans.

When I first knew of EH’s tactless comment in facebook, I immediately went to his comment to click on his name that was linked to his FB profile page. From this profile page, I got to know he graduated from NUS Arts & Social Science Faculty, and he is currently doing his own business in a company named “Chee Chee” something.
I remember all these vividly because it is not everyday that you see a company with such a “Chee Chee” name, it’s like scolding your own company vulgar words. I am sorry I didn’t take the trouble to screen-shot all these details.
This is a serious case. The police should really investigate; PAP should ask for nothing lesser than the truth. Isn’t it a no brainer? If PAP finds out that the culprit is not their people, isn’t a good chance for them to shoot us all netizens? On the other hand, if this ERIC How is lying to his master after making such a mistake, PAP can shoot him to regain its reputation and moral authority to rule.
This is a no brainer case really, PAP needs to get the truth out. Either way they gain, I don’t undertsand why they are not doing it.

Hi Everyone,
The photo appeared in the newspaper is the actual Eric How I knew. I am his ex-colleague and manager for many years. He is dedicated, hardworking and always delivers his tasks on time. Nice colleague to work with. With his humble and easy going personality, he is not the sort to write those articles.
This is an obvious case of an imposter trying to stir the emotions of netizens for whatever reasons we don’t know. TR has been doing a good job highlighting issues and policies affecting Singaporeans. I hope TR continue with its works and not let this imposter caused discord among us.
