Our govt also got help us. They moved the retirement age to 62. Also they are pushing out a new employment bill whereby the employers need to renegotiate a new contract with their employees reaching the age of 62. If the company is unable to provide employment then they have to give them a lump sum payment.

Also with CPF life and the increase of the minimum sum there exists a monthly amount that would be able to last as long as it can. WIth the introduction of the HDB buy back scheme that will also give out a lump sum + monthly payments of SGD500ish, the retired individual will not have any worries for the rest of the years.

But then again, if there existed a minimum wage, they might not have to come up with these schemes. And if they did not have to import FT to artificially repress the wages, those above-mentioned schemes would have been redundant.

look at the wealth of opportunities other governments in developed world offer and the pathetic opportunities that Singapore PAP government offers.. its a joke considering we pay so much to these politicians and policy makers to come up with third rate policies. though they love telling everyone that they dont know what they are talking, its precisely our politicians and policy makers who do not know what the hell they are talking
