Rachel Kum: My boobs were enhanced

Controversial reigning Miss Singapore World Rachel Kum has finally let the cat out of the bag – that she had her breast augmented before the pageant.

In an interview with The New Paper last Wednesday, Rachel admits: “I went for breast enhancement”.

When pressed further by the journalist to reveal the type, she responds: “Can I not say which type?”

According to Ms Kum, she does not feel she did anything wrong by enhancing her breasts.

“There is nothing wrong with aesthetic treatment or even plastic surgery….Many contestants around the world have also gone for such procedures,” she told TNP.

Ms Kum sparked a furore in cyberspace when some personal photos of her surfaced in the internet and were posted on STOMP showing her posting with a blown-up sex doll and a birthday cake with a phallic symbol.

Her “indecent” posture attracted brickbats from netizens and there were calls for her to give up her crown.

Ms Kum said that the photos were posted on her Facebook and blog though they were removed before the finals of the Miss Singapore Universe contest. The identity of the culprit who circulated her photos remains unknown.

Besides the Miss Singapore Universe, another lesser known beauty pageant – Miss Singapore World also became dogged by controversies when its initial winner Miss Ris Low was dethroned for her previous conviction for credit card fraud.

Ms Low was lambasted during the contest for her poor command of the English language.

A few weeks after she won the pageant, My Paper leaked that she was sentenced to probation last year for credit card fraud.

Public pressure eventually forced the organizers to withdraw her crown and passed it to the second runner-up.

The seemingly “inferior” quality of Singapore women for beauty pageants has led some to moot the idea of “importing” well-groomed women from other countries to represent Singapore in international beauty pageants such as China.

After all, the Singapore Table-Tennis Team and other sports are now dominated by China nationals.

It should not be to difficult to get a decent-looking China lady to don the colors of Singapore for a different purpose.

Looks like her boobs are not attracting any

    comments. Further enhancements?

  • XPS:

    haha, a great idea indeed.

then singapore would truly be a ‘cosmopolitan’ city, with foreigners working in construction, at the forefront of our service sector, on our national sports team, and now, it seems, in the soon-to-open IRs.

it probably wouldn’t come as a surprise to have them winning beauty pageants (and thereby representing our country on the national stage, too).

but lets not limit the choices to nationals from mainland china. if we choose to pay more, we can employ 100% natural, 100% english-speaking, blondes.

  • tes:

why are local women lacking confidence to the point they have to ‘enhance’ their breasts? small means small lah, there are many other points to attract a man or appear attractive then just shoving a pair into their line of sight.

  • What:

Oh boy! We have worked hard in getting recognised for our intelligence and equality but it seems this recent beauty contest is demeaning women who are truly talented. If we cannot get any decent women to represent Singapore, then we should forget it and focus on other more worthy causes? There are so many other women who has dedicated their lives in charity or helping people in need – these should be the ones to be recognised and being crowned. Is the reporter out to demean women?

  • Since when, “FAKE” becomes beauty? What is going on? I believe, we should sincerely say thank you to the Japanese and Koreans for engrossing so much on “FAKE” beauties enhanced by plastic surgeries! Who are the real winners? You know, certainly, the plastic “surgeons-beast” and not the beauties.

Just imagine you are squeezing a “FAKE-BALL”! Oh, my “god”, please release me from this nightmare of “FAKE” era! So lucky, “god” makes and blesses me as a “G” that I do not need to face “FAKE” objects!

  • cat:

and I always thought HK woman though prettier, has much smaller boob.

    I was wrong

  • dt:

i think it should be miss singapore universe instead of miss singapore world.

  • Exposer:

Next time, the beauty contest must have the requirement to poke the breast of contestant with 5 inches needle to check for breast Genuinity. Be glad to volunteer for that. LOL.

  • btan:

Some time ago, I saw a beauty pageant for the Thai Ladyboys, and one almost cannot tell the difference if not for the fact it was made known to be a Ladyboy pageant.

Similarly, any beauty pageant should be fair to their audience and announce if this pageant is for the “natural beauty” only or for “fake” beauty.

Someone need to come up with a natural beauty pageant where contestant must not have undergone any cosmetic surgery and maybe even with no makeup.

Anyway, Rachel is so hot, I don’t think people care anyway.
