Deceased Ng Chee Kiang reported to have suicidal tendencies a week before his death

Translated from Shin Min Daily

The Ang Mo Kio suicide cum murder tragedy which robbed the lives of two children and their father could have been averted had the friends of Mr Ng Chee Kiang been vigilant enough!

A week before the tragedy took place, Mr Ng had confided in his close friends that he wanted to end his life together with his children.

His friends were worried about this persistently low mood and took turns to keep him company.

Throughout the entire week, other than during working hours, his friends will visit him at his place every evening and drink beer together at the nearby coffeeshop.

On that fateful day, Mr Ng was still contemplating ending his life. His friend tried to dissuade him for four hours to no avail before returning home in the evening at 6pm.

He didn’t expect Mr Ng would set his flat on fire killing his two children before plunging to his death from twelve stories high.

The friend was very remorseful and regretted not calling the police earlier. He felt that had he remained behind to keep Mr Ng company, the tragedy would not have happened.

Mr Ng was declared a bankrupt in 2003 following mounting debts from gambling and stocks.

His marriage was reportedly on the rocks as a result of his financial situation. Mr Ng used to splurge on his wife and his children and frequently overspent using his credit card.

And thank God his children wouldn’t have to suffer the fates of the singapore system(education, ns etc.)

  • Time for Change:

Singaporeans are suffering. Our million dollar ministers are not interested and the Shitty Times always paint a rosy picture of life here. But many Singaporeans are in pain and suffering in silence. Many families are hurting.

Let us pray for them and hopefully we can also take action to ensure a better future for them.

  • Another casualty in Singapore…
    Not enough… not enough…
    No matter what, RIP.

‘…The friend was very remorseful and regretted not calling the police earlier…’

What’s the use of being very remorseful and regretful…?
Man… Under LDP got disposed, then they are trying to wise themselves up. In any case, there are tons of rich civil people out there. If they can’t help, if they won’t help, this guy is helpless. Period.

Another Tan Jee Suan… How many more?

How many more will appease those at the churches?
How many more must the New Father of Singapore see?
How many more will start the game rolling…

Nobody will really bother… until dawn breaks.

    Should read

Deceased Ng Chee Kiang had suicidal tendencies a week before his death

    In any case, read this:

    http://www.samaritans.org/your_emotional_health/about_suicide/myths_about_suicide.aspx

People who kill themselves would normally share their suicidal thoughts before doing it as a way of trying to get help, and we should always take such comments seriously.
